Erosive Wear Technology

In an erosive environment, frequent replacement of parts is costly and time-consuming. PM-HIP opens up significant possibilities to enhance performance where existing materials are constantly being replaced due to an erosive environment. For example, pump impellers and housings made in a single piece using PM-HIP will out-perform traditional productions methods, such as castings. Or a cemented tungsten carbide/cobalt metal matrix where the HIP process ensures excellent mechanical and wear properties. The PM-HIP process is also well suited to the production of various components for slurry pumps, including bi-metallic impellers, where steel and hard-facing nickel/cobalt materials can be bonded directly onto the critical wear surfaces.
